Preview of the Games Before the Game

It's Conference championship weekend, which usually features better played football than the Super Bowl, since there's no extra week off and less of the hype machine, although that is not the case this year with the whole New Orleans thing and the Colts-Pats hype.

NFC Title Game-Saints at Bears
To me this is the easier of the two games to call. The Saints have the best offense in the league, led by Drew Brees who in nearly any other year would be the league MVP. Meanwhile, the Bears defense has struggled in recent weeks, and their offense is rendered next to useless if Rex Grossman has any pressure put on him. It's possible that the cold could affect the Saints, but not enough. Saints 30-Bears 17

AFC Title Game-Patriots at Colts
Everything that can be said has been said about this game. The Colts seemingly have every advantage, especially now that their defense is picking up steam. I'd like to say that Adam Vinatieri is going to kick the game winning field goal, but until there is a congressional law mandating it, there is no way I'm picking against Belichick and Brady. Pats 21-Colts 14
